Year 6 at Forest School have been learning how to cook outside. Each group chose a meal they would like to cook outdoors and prepared the food inside before heading out into the forest. In previous Forest School sessions, the children used a sheaf knife to cut up kindling in preparation for the fire. Once the kindling and food had been prepared, the children cooked their dishes (halloumi skewers and stuffed peppers) on the fire. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning how to cook outside and were able to overcome some challenges like using the magnesium striker and ensuring the food did not overcook or burn. Well done Year 6 for being fantastic Forest Schoolers and for showing excellent Forest School skills.
