Year 3 had a wonderful day today taking part in an exciting and immersive Ancient Egyptian Workshop! The children were transported thousands of years back in time and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the fascinating world of gods, pharaohs and pyramids.

Throughout the day, children took part in a wide range of hands-on activities. They tried their hand at code-breaking by deciphering hieroglyphs, practised their aim during a fun ‘hunting’ archery session, and created art using ink and traditional reed pens. The children were also captivated as they learned about the mummification process and listened to stories of Ancient Egyptian gods, kings and pharaohs.

Children also dressed up in Ancient Egyptian clothing and accessories, recreated the map of Egypt using fabric, and worked together to solve intriguing puzzles. A particular highlight was the archaeological dig, where the children excavated sand to uncover ancient artefacts using metal detectors, sand brushes and magnifying glasses to carefully study their discoveries.

Perhaps you could ask your child what their favourite part of the day was, asking them to share the most interesting fact they learned.
