Year 3 - The History of Houses

This week we went on a local walk around the school to look at the different houses . We looked at terraced houses, flats, semi-detached and maisonettes. We compared these houses to the Manor house that was knocked down in the 1950s. 

We looked at the brick work, number of windows, whether they had a driveway or a front garden and it generated a lot of discussion about the dfferent sizes of these different houses and how many people may live in them. 

As you can see, we all had a wonderful time learning outside the classroom, so to support your child with this learning, talk about what home you live in.

Maybe as you travel to school look at the different house styles and compare them with the Manor or others on the same journey.
