Learning beyond the classroom.

This week we enjoyed learning in the Science garden. We were investigating trees, their size and type. We were able to compare the sizes and leaves of the trees in our Science garden, as well as do some bark and leaf rubbings. 

We talked about the importance of trees to the local habitat as we looked for life around them. We spotted woodlice, beetles, snails, slugs and many more creatures as well as some fungi (mushrooms) that we were able to identify using a pocket chart. 

The following day we enjoyed making bird feeders to put on our trees near ourplayground, hoping to catch a blue tit or magpie enjoying their feed.
