This week in year 3 we have been learning about a different force: Magnetism.
The children all engaged in a series of investigations using magnets and observing how for some forces such as magnetism, the magnet does not need to touch the object that it attracts. We call this a non-contact force.
Some children described this as magic, as it really did look like it but we soon realised that it was the magentic force inside that was attracting (pulling towards each other) or repelling (pushing away from each other) that make it look like it moves.
Ask your children what they learnt about magnetism and if you have any magnets at home, have a go at recreating some of our investigations in class.
