The Year 5 children took to the Elizabeth Line on their adventure into London where they became volcanologists. After a lovely walk through Hyde Park, we reached our destination of The Natural History Museum. It was here that we took part in a workshop all about Volcanoes and Eathquakes. The children listened attentively and enjoyed the display which included watching a model vocalno erupt. Afterwards they travelled through the centre of the earth and immersed themselves in the Earthquakes and Volcanoes exhibition. Here, they could learn through interactive displays and could even have a go in an Earthquake simulator. As we had some extra time, we also visited other exhbitions in the museum, including the dinosaurs. It was a wonderful day and the children were fantastic ambassadors for our school.

"When I walked into the Natural History Museum, Hope, the Blue Whale skeleton, led me in! It's giant size hung above everyone in the amazing Hinntz Hall. I stood there in awe and amazement. " KH

"I especially loved the earthquake simulator because I wanted to experience how it might feel to be in an earthquake." IC
