Year 2 - Harold Hill Historians

Our journey began by learning how our school developed from the foundations to the wonderful school it is today!

Our curious young historians have been exploring how Harold Hill has changed over time by comparing fascinating old photographs with the modern-day streets and landmarks we know today. We have looked closely at how homes, shops, schools, and green spaces have grown and developed. We also took part in a walk of our local area, noticing the architecture of the buildings today. By learning about Harold Hill’s past, we understand and appreciate our community even more today.

Our amazing pupils have been out in Duck Wood, working hard to pick up litter and protect our beautiful environment here in Harold Hill. From bottles to wrappers, we cleared it all, helping keep our local woods clean and safe for everyone, including the wonderful wildlife that lives there, like our friendly neighbourhood deer!

After our litter-picking adventure, we created bright and bold posters to encourage everyone in our community to look after our green spaces. Together, we can make Harold Hill cleaner, greener, and safer for all. Let’s protect nature, one piece of litter at a time!

Year 2 stepped into the driver’s seat this week as they took on the exciting role of bus drivers! We explored and demonstrated the routes of two important local buses: the 174 and the 496.
