Year 3 - Science - Skeletons and Muscles

Year 3 have been learning about our bodies and how they work. We have studied our skeleton, discovering how it is joined together and how bones are essential for a variety of bodily functions, including providing support, protection, and allowing movement. They also act as a storage site for minerals and produce blood cells. We have also observed how our muscles work, performing critical functions in the human body, including enabling movement, maintaining posture, protecting internal organs, and generating heat. They work by contracting and relaxing, pulling on bones to produce movement and stabilize joints.
