We have had a wonderful time celebrating Music Week in Year 3! It all started with some marvellous performances from musicians from Drapers' Academy on Monday morning, and then on Tuesday we enjoyed supporting our own classmates with their performances at the iRock Concert. Well done to the Year 3 children who performed alongside their bands in front of the school. 

We learnt about the different genres of music, and listened to examples of songs from each of them, discussing what our personal preferences are. Children enjoyed discovering music legends this week, and some have even discovered new favourite artists and songs!

Mrs Burton played ukulele for the classes, and Mrs Vingoe had a go at joining in too. Then the children were taught about the parts of the ukelele and learnt how to play along to a song. 

On Friday we got to watch a live performance from the band 'Power Outlet' who were formed over at Drapers' Academy. After their short concert they invited the children to each have a turn at playing their instruments. Every child got a turn on the guitar, bass guitar, keyboard and drum kit! We hope some have been inspired to learn a new instrument outside of school! Ask your child which instrument was their favourite...
