Year 5 - Shadow Theatre

This half term, one of the topics we have studied is volcanoes. We have written a biography on Professor Stephen Sparks, a world famous volcanologist.

In science, we have learnt about light. We know how light travels, how we see things and what causes shadows.

During our recent English lessons, we have focused on writing narratives. We based our narrative on what we know about Professor Stephen Sparks and created an adventure story about when Professor Sparks was on an expedition and had to escape an erupting volcano along with his brilliant assistant, Emily Ember.

Applying what we have learnt in Science, we created a shadow puppet theatre based on our narrative and performed it for our peers.
