Year 1 Plants
Back to Latest News
Year 1 have loved learning all about plants in Science this term. This week, children worked in pairs to make their own flowering plants out of hexi-flex and Lego, and then labelled the different parts on a whiteboard, identifying the flower, petals, stem, leaves and roots.
Rabbit Class and Squirrel Class have also enjoyed creating their very own grass heads, decorating the pot and planting their grass seeds in the soil. We can't wait to watch these wacky characters grow! What shall we name them?
In Maths, children have been practising their Computing skills to devise a set of instructions for moving a Bee Bot to a given point. It was fantastic to see them working together and communicating with their partners to reach the pirate treasure!
