Year 1 First Aiders

Another exciting week of learning in Year 1! The week began with the arrival of duck eggs, which started to hatch on Tuesday afternoon. The children have loved learning different facts about ducklings and how we can work as a school to care for them as they grow. Please watch the live stream of the ducklings at home and ask your child to describe them to you - what do they look like? How do they feel? Why did we need to incubate the eggs when they arrived? What will they need as they grow older?

Rabbit and Squirrel Class also had a fantastic time taking part in a Flat Stan First Aid Workshop. We enjoyed learning all about how to bandage a patient, how to do CPR, how to attend to a nose bleed, and what to do in any cases of bumps, burns and choking. Children have been provided with a Flat Stan First Aid booklet to take home - please take some time with your child to read through the booklet and reiterate what to do in case of emergencies.
