Today Year 5 planted different seeds including: beetroot, lettuce and chards to grow over the summer term. They discussed how long it would take for the seeds to grow and what would be needed in order to help the seeds grow into vegetables.

Before planting the seeds, the children collected yoghurt pots to recycle into plant pots to be used to plant their seeds. They carefully chose a range of nature-based designs to decorate their plant pots. The children were excited to plant the seeds and thought carefully about how much soil and water was needed. They were able to link their learning to previous Biology work they had learnt in Year 3 and 4 and used this during group discussions.

Well done Year 5 for showing engagement during your learning!
