Year 6 - RMS Titanic

Happy New Year and welcome back! In Year 6 we are diving straight in (no pun intended) to our new topic. 

On Thursday the children were invited on board the largest, most luxurious steamliner of her time for an afternoon of biscuits and games. Unfortunately, their journey was cut abruptly short by a collision with an iceberg in the North Atlantic ocean. Some of the passengers were fortunate enough to be offered a place on the lifeboat, but most sadly were left aboard the sinking ship. 

On Friday the children discovered more about the real-life passengers they had been playing the roles of, and the terrible tragedy of RMS Titanic. We also introduced our new class book - The Titanic Detective Agency; a mystery set on board the famous vessel. Ask your children about their predictions for the story!
