To celebrate Chinese New Year, Year 1 took part in a tasting session where we were given the opportunity to try a range of traditional Chinese New Year snacks. We had prawn crackers with sweet chilli sauce, vegetable rice and Jasmine tea. We really enjoyed the prawn crackers- they were so yummy! We also enjoyed taking part in a Chinese dance work shop where we were turned into dragons and learnt some traditional dance moves.

We also celebrate Rosa Parks’ birthday this week, by learning about what she did and why she was special. She was special because she said no when she was told to stand up and give her seat to someone else. We discussed that she was very brave to do this and we said if we saw something that was right, we should stand up as well to make things fair for everyone.
