Year 1 - Hot Chocolate
Back to Latest News
After a strange visit from a penguin last week, we imagined how it would be to live in Antarctica. We thought that to warm up in that cold place a good idea would be to drink a hot drink - we decided hot chocolate sounded the best! We listed all the things we would need and we learnt how to write a set of instructions. After that, we followed our own instructions and enjoyed a warm and tasty hot chocolate.
This week we also learnt how important is to work with a partner to complete some tasks. We were given the challenge of building a tower in 30 seconds - but it had to be as tall as a ruler. We found this hard to do on our own. Then we completed the same challenge with our partner and found that the tower was much bigger when we worked in a team!
During our Maths sessions we fed a hungry triangle monster that only liked to eat different shaped triangles. We had to made sure we didn't feed it squares or circles!
